While studying in England, Ananya worked at a student helpline, where she was exposed to anxiety, depression and other
mental health conditions through her interactions with patients. On returning to India, Ananya wondered why talk about mental illness was so hushed and considered taboo.
Together with her mother Neerja Birla, she set up MpowerMinds, which aims to increase public awareness about mental health, advocates prevention, and strives to overcome the widespread social stigma towards sufferers in India and beyond. Join the conversation at #StampOutTheStigma!
